Matt Schaub done for the year
Surprising news came out today, that Matt Schaub is out for the rest of the year due to a Lisfranc injury (broken foot). That may actually boost the value of Arian Foster and Ben Tate, as the Texans focus even further on the ground game. Definitely hurts the remaining value of Andre Johnson, now that Matt Leinart is throwing him the ball.

Peyton Hillis out at least two weeks
Peyton Hillis' aggravated hamstring injury knocked him out of this week's game, and will likely keep him out next week as well.

Nicks, Bradshaw ruled out for Pats game
The Giants have officially ruled out WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Brandon Jacobs will be the primary back in Bradshaw's absence. Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz should get a bump in value against one of the league's worst secondaries.

Jags place Sims-Walker on IR
Just weeks after re-acquiring the former Jaguar, Jacksonville placed wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker on injured reserve with knee issues.
This news likely won't impact fantasy owners, since Jags QB Blaine Gabbert has passed for just 299 yards in his last three games combined, finding the end zone just twice in that span.

Kolb likely out versus Rams
While the Rams may get their starter back for the game this weekend, the Cards are likely losing theirs.
Kevin Kolb is still in a walking boot, suffering from turf toe, and is likely to miss his team's week 9 game against St. Louis.
If Kolb can't play, the Cardinals would rely on John Skelton at quarterback. In related news, the Rams could potentially be staring at their first back-to-back wins this season.

No decision yet on McGahee's status
Willis McGahee, recovering from surgery to repair a broken hand, was a participant in the Broncos' practice on Thursday.

Star wideout Andre Johnson missed his second practice of the week on Thursday.

Sam Bradford optimistic about playing Sunday
Sam Bradford's prospects for Sunday's game against Arizona were looking up after his sprained ankle felt better on Thursday.

Carson Palmer will once again be throwing to his old teammate. While Darrius Heyward-Bey has played well, no WR in particular has stepped up for the Raiders and T.J. has a chance to be a fantasy starter depending match-ups and how fast he learns the offense.
Peyton Manning not going on IR
Looks like there is still a chance that the future Hall of Famer will play this year. For those of you doing well and your league and happen to have a roster spot available, Peyton might be worth holding on to for the chance that he's available in the fantasy playoffs.

Felix Jones could return against Seahawks
Jones's status is officially day-to-day right now. DeMarco Murray has been extremely impressive in Jones's absence, and it would be a surprise if he took a back seat to Jones at this point.

Wells probably out for week 8
Though nothing definitive has been announced, it looks like Beanie Wells will sit out Arizona's week 8 matchup.
Wells suffered a knee injury against the Steelers, and would be up against another tough run defense this week against Baltimore anyway. Alfonso Smith would get the start if Beanie does in fact sit out.
On the bright side, Wells appears optimistic enough that it's possible he'll play in week 9, when the Cardinals face the Rams. St. Louis has allowed nearly six yards per carry to opposing running backs so far this season.

The hits just keep coming for the Redskins. Days after the team lost Tim Hightower for the season to a torn ACL, and Santana Moss for five to seven weeks with a broken hand, Washington placed TE Chris Cooley on injured reserve.

Wells may play in week 8
Beanie Wells' knee is stable, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt reported, and the running back won't require surgery.
There is no timetable on Wells' return. Even if he does play in week 8, he'll be less than 100 percent and facing Baltimore's otherworldly run defense, so fantasy owners will likely want to look elsewhere.
If Wells can't play Sunday, Alfonso Smith, LaRod Stephens-Howling, and Chester Taylor would all be in line for increased carries.
Stafford "no more than day-to-day"
Fantasy owners and Lions fans dodged a bullet when an MRI of Matthew Stafford's injured ankle came back negative.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz characterized Stafford as "no more than day-to-day," though the quarterback was in a walking book yesterday.

The move further muddles the running back situation in Detroit. If Best can't play, Brown, Maurice Morris, and possibly Keiland Williams will be in the mix to pick up extra playing time.
Harrison was effective as a backup last year for the Eagles, but will again see limited time behind stud starter LeSean McCoy.

Jags to re-sign Mike Sims-Walker
Sims-Walker, released earlier this week by the Rams, is re-signing with the Jaguars.
The receiver had his most productive seasons in Jacksonville, hauling in seven touchdowns apiece in both 2009 and 2010. However, with rookie Blaine Gabbert at the helm, the Jags' passing attack has been anemic.
Sims-Walker is nothing more than a speculation play at this point.

McNabb benched, Ponder to start
Leslie Frazier has officially named Christian Ponder the Vikings' starter at QB. Donovan McNabb will ride the bench for Minnesota's week 7 game against Green Bay.
Ponder immediately becomes a player of interest for fantasy purposes. However, he looked pedestrian during the preseason, and there are easier defenses against which to kick off an NFL career than the Packers.
This move probably bodes well for Adrian Peterson, since Frazier will rely on him to keep the heat off his rookie quarterback.

Cedric Benson's suspension reduced
Because of their extensive experience keeping the Bengals' starting RB out of jail, Benson's lawyers successfully reduced his suspension from three games to one. The Raiders dealt a first round pick in 2012 and a conditional first round pick in 2013 for Palmer, which begs the question: Did Al Davis make this trade from the grave?
For those of you keeping track (Raiders fans), Oakland has now traded away its first, second, fourth, and seventh round picks in 2012, and spent its third round pick on Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft.

Jahvid Best has another concussion
News is out that Best suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers. Because it's his second concussion, the Lions star RB will most likely miss the week 7 game against Falcons. Maurice Morris will get the start in his place, but Keiland Williams should handle the short yardage situations and Jerome Harrison may get get some carries as well.
Following the game, Lions' coach Jim Schwartz was lucky not to get a concussion as well when he tried to fight 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh following a handshake he considered to be "too firm".

Brandon Lloyd being dealt to Rams
Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is reportedly being dealt to the Rams.
This is a move with a lot of fantasy implications. Lloyd's value is likely salvaged a bit, since he'll have more success with Sam Bradford throwing to him than he likely would have with Tim Tebow. Bradford's stock is boosted as well. Demaryius Thomas may take Lloyd's place in the starting lineup.
Tebow, on the other hand, may struggle. Without the downfield threat of Lloyd, defenses will be free to stack the box. If Tebow can't run the football, he'll have trouble producing big fantasy lines--or winning many games.
No word yet on what the Broncos will receive in return.

Hillis injured (or benched), Hardesty mediocre
Peyton Hillis left the game against the Raiders which was first said to be a coach's decision (read: benching), but then changed to a hamstring injury, but then he returned to the game briefly so more to come on that debacle. Four teams have so far inquired about Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. Those four teams are reportedly the Rams, Patriots, 49ers, and Titans.
