Monday, November 14

Matt Schaub done for the year

Surprising news came out today, that Matt Schaub is out for the rest of the year due to a Lisfranc injury (broken foot). That may actually boost the value of Arian Foster and Ben Tate, as the Texans focus even further on the ground game. Definitely hurts the remaining value of Andre Johnson, now that Matt Leinart is throwing him the ball.

Sunday, November 13

DeSean Jackson won't play today

After Jackson missed a team meeting yesterday for no apparent reason, Andy Reid is playing tough guy and adding him to the inactive list for today's game against Arizona. Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek, Jason Avant, and even Steve Smith will get more looks in Jackson's absence.

Sunday, November 6

Miles Austin leaves with hamstring injury

Miles Austin was forced from the Cowboys' game against the Seahawks with a hamstring injury. His return is unlikely.

McGahee to start for Broncos

Willis McGahee will start for the Broncos, just two weeks after suffering a broken hand that required surgery. Knowshon Moreno is relegated to backup and third-down duty again. The Broncos face the Raiders this afternoon.

Peyton Hillis out at least two weeks

Peyton Hillis' aggravated hamstring injury knocked him out of this week's game, and will likely keep him out next week as well.

With Montario Hardesty also out, Chris Ogbonnaya will get the start against the Texans. Though Houston has a stout run defense, Ogbonnaya would get a much better matchup in week 10 against the Rams.

Nicks, Bradshaw ruled out for Pats game

The Giants have officially ruled out WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Brandon Jacobs will be the primary back in Bradshaw's absence. Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz should get a bump in value against one of the league's worst secondaries.

Thursday, November 3

Jags place Sims-Walker on IR

Just weeks after re-acquiring the former Jaguar, Jacksonville placed wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker on injured reserve with knee issues.

This news likely won't impact fantasy owners, since Jags QB Blaine Gabbert has passed for just 299 yards in his last three games combined, finding the end zone just twice in that span.

Kolb likely out versus Rams

While the Rams may get their starter back for the game this weekend, the Cards are likely losing theirs.

Kevin Kolb is still in a walking boot, suffering from turf toe, and is likely to miss his team's week 9 game against St. Louis.

If Kolb can't play, the Cardinals would rely on John Skelton at quarterback. In related news, the Rams could potentially be staring at their first back-to-back wins this season.

No decision yet on McGahee's status

Willis McGahee, recovering from surgery to repair a broken hand, was a participant in the Broncos' practice on Thursday.

Coach John Fox, though, said that McGahee wouldn't play unless his hand is 100 percent. Friday's practice should clue in fantasy owners about what to expect from McGahee this weekend.

Felix Jones still not quite ready

Jones missed practice again Thursday, and it looks like he'll require a little more rest before he's able to return.

DeMarco Murray would again get the lion's share of the carries. He faces a tough run defense this week against Seattle.

McFadden out of practice again; may not play

Darren McFadden sat out Raiders practice again Thursday and may miss his second straight game this weekend recovering from an ankle sprain.

If McFadden can't go, Michael Bush will shoulder the load for the Raiders.

Andre Johnson still not practicing

Star wideout Andre Johnson missed his second practice of the week on Thursday.

The Texans are still calling Johnson day-to-day as he recovers from a small hamstring tear. Johnson has missed Houston's last four games. His practice status Friday will go a long way toward determining whether he plays against Cleveland this weekend.

Sam Bradford optimistic about playing Sunday

Sam Bradford's prospects for Sunday's game against Arizona were looking up after his sprained ankle felt better on Thursday.

Bradford hopes to practice on Friday. Though Bradford has underachieved this year, with only three touchdown passes in five starts, the Cardinals feature one of the league's worst secondaries.

Hillis to play Sunday

Browns RB Peyton Hillis was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, and said he expects to play this weekend.

Montario Hardesty is a long shot to play, so Hillis would likely share carries with Chris Ogbonnaya.

Fred Davis out of walking boot

Fred Davis was without his walking boot today. Though his practice status is unclear, he's a good bet to play Sunday.

Bradshaw's injury up in the air

After earlier reports suggested Ahmad Bradshaw would be out indefinitely with a broken foot, Adam Schefter relayed inside information that the injury may not be as serious as initially thought.

There's even a possibility that Bradshaw could play Sunday. Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs owners need to keep a close eye on this situation over the next two days.

Bradshaw out indefinitely with cracked bone

Huge blow for Giants fans and fantasy owners, as Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw is out indefinitely after doctors discovered a cracked bone in his foot.

Bradshaw left last weekend's game when a screw in his foot began bothering. He's had foot trouble in the past, and is reportedly considering surgery.

Brandon Jacobs becomes the number one back for the Giants and will carry the load this weekend against New England.

Wednesday, November 2

Peyton Hillis still not practicing, Montario Hardesty officially out

Unless the Madden curse reverses itself quickly, Chris Ogbonnaya will be getting all the carries on Sunday. The only other option for the Browns is Thomas Clayton, who the team signed after holding a tryout yesterday. Clayton's career stats are 7 carries for 17 yards with a long of 5 yards.

Tuesday, November 1

T.J. Houshmandzadeh signed by the Raiders

Carson Palmer will once again be throwing to his old teammate. While Darrius Heyward-Bey has played well, no WR in particular has stepped up for the Raiders and T.J. has a chance to be a fantasy starter depending match-ups and how fast he learns the offense.

Peyton Manning not going on IR

Looks like there is still a chance that the future Hall of Famer will play this year. For those of you doing well and your league and happen to have a roster spot available, Peyton might be worth holding on to for the chance that he's available in the fantasy playoffs.

Felix Jones could return against Seahawks

Jones's status is officially day-to-day right now. DeMarco Murray has been extremely impressive in Jones's absence, and it would be a surprise if he took a back seat to Jones at this point.

That said, it bears listening to Dallas coach Jason Garrett for any clues this week as to how the workload will shake out. Seattle has proved a tough test for opposing rushers so far this season.

Mike Tolbert could play major week 9 role

Mike Tolbert's return is looking good for week 9 against Green Bay. Reports from San Diego are that, barring any setbacks in concussion tests this week, Tolbert is likely to play.

With Ryan Mathews up in the air for Sunday after suffering a groin injury against Kansas City, Tolbert could be a major factor.

Blount to return this week

Bucs coach Raheem Morris says LeGarrette Blount will return for Tampa Bay this week.

That's a big boost for the Bucs, who also lost backup Earnest Graham for the season. Blount returns against New Orleans' very weak run defense, so it's a tasty match-up for fantasy purposes.

Sanders having knee examined

Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders needs his knee examined. There's no word yet on the extent of the injury, but with Hines Ward also expected to return this week, Sanders should be knocked down rankings boards for week 9.

Nicks not too nicked up

Good news for Hakeem Nicks owners: an MRI revealed that a hamstring strain aggravated by the wideout on Sunday isn't serious.

Nicks is day-to-day, but at this point it would be a surprise if he didn't play in week 9. Nicks has a juicy match-up against the Patriots' league-worst pass defense.

Monday, October 31

Tashard Choice signed by Redskins

Mike Shanahan once again does all he can to make the Redskins RB situation as uncertain as possible. Ryan Torain has not played well as of late, so Choice will definitely get carries. You just have no idea when to expect them.

Montario Hardesty to miss games with torn calf

Browns are praying that Peyton Hillis is back to full strengthen soon. If not, Chris Ogbonnaya will continue as the lead back. Signed fresh off of the Texans' practice squad, Ogbonnaya looks to be a decent pick-up as long as your expectations remain tempered.

Sunday, October 30

Montario Hardesty left game with calf injury

Browns RB woes continue as Hardesty has left Sunday's game against San Francisco and his return is questionable.

Click here for Week 8 Inactives

Per ESPN's continuous updates

Daniel Thomas out, Beanie Wells playing

While both RBs were listed as questionable coming into today, this situation was the opposite of what everyone expected. Daniel Thomas has been ruled out, so Reggie Bush will be getting the bulk of the carries while Alfonso Smith will once again take a back seat to Beanie Wells.

Saturday, October 29

Cowboys cut Tashard Choice

Last week Choice hurt his shoulder, Phillip Tanner played well and DeMarco Murray playing especially well leaving the door open for the Cowboys to cut the former back-up RB. May be a little premature with only two active RBs for next Sunday's game, but makes sense with Felix Jones on the roster as well.

Friday, October 28

Mark Ingram ruled out, Chris Ivory added to roster

Ingram's heel injury will keep him out this week, not that the Saints will need him facing the winless Rams (without their star QB). The team activated Chris Ivory, who is an interesting flex play assuming the Saints get out to an early lead, run the ball, and rest Pierre Thomas/Darren Sproles.

Sam Bradford officially ruled out for Sunday

As expected, A.J. Feeley will again get the start on Sunday due to Bradford's high ankle sprain. It's unfortunate Bradford is missing the games, as the Saints pass defense is nothing to write home about and would have certainly helped his stats. The good news is that Feeley and Brandon Lloyd had a strong connection last week that should continue on Sunday.

Andre Johnson out one more week

While it's too bad for Johnson owners, at least head coach Gary Kubiak made the decision on Friday leaving ample time to find a replacement.

Peyton Hillis missed practice Thursday & Friday

Hillis reinjured his hamstring on Wednesday and missed the next two days of practice. All signs are pointing to Montario Hardesty getting the bulk of carries once again on Sunday, but either way, the 49ers are the toughest team in football on opposing RBs so neither Hillis or Hardesty would be a good start no matter the situation.

Thursday, October 27

Beanie Wells "very, very doubtful" for Sunday

Despite Wells' optimism this week, it looks like the knee injury he suffered against the Steelers will keep him out at least one week.

Jason LaCanorfa of the NFL Network reports that Wells is "very, very doubtful." Alfonso Smith and LaRod Stephens-Howling will pick up carries in Wells' absence.

Bradford unlikely to start Sunday

Sam Bradford is still battling a high ankle sprain, and his status is in doubt for St. Louis' game against the Saints on Sunday.

Bradford sat out practice again on Thursday and hasn't been at practice yet this week. A.J. Feeley would get another start if Bradford can't play.

Stafford expected to start on Sunday

It's been an up-and-down week for Lions QB Matthew Stafford, but it appears that he'll be ready to start on Sunday.

Stafford practiced again on Thursday. More importantly, he took all the snaps with the first-team offense. Earlier in the week, backup Shaun Hill had been taking some snaps with the first-team offense as well.

Ingram out again on Thursday

Mark Ingram sat out again on Thursday and his status is in doubt for the Saints' game against the Rams and their league-worst run defense this weekend.

If Ingram can't play, Pierre Thomas would get an upgrade in the fantasy rankings. Darren Sproles is a typically strong play.

Peterson practices, expected to play

After being held out on Wednesday, Adrian Peterson was back at practice Thursday and is expected to be ready to go for the Vikings' game against a weak Panthers defense.

Sanders to start if Ward can't

Emmanuel Sanders will get the start for the Steelers opposite Mike Wallace if Hines Ward is unable to play.

Fellow wideout Antonio Brown has been the buzzier player this week, but Sanders' added experience probably plays a role here.

Wednesday, October 26

Addai struggles with aggravated hamstring

Joseph Addai, who aggravated an existing hamstring injury last weekend, did not practice on Wednesday.

It's looking increasingly less likely that he'll be able to play in week 8. Friday's practice should give fantasy owners a better indicator.

Delone Carter and Donald Brown are next in line for carries, though Carter has been significantly more productive than Brown in Addai's absence.

Bradford doubtful against Saints

Rams QB Sam Bradford is still recovering from a high ankle sprain, and will likely miss St. Louis' week 8 game against the Saints.

Bradford just had his cast removed Wednesday. If he can't play, A.J. Feeley should get another start in his stead. Feeley was serviceable if unspectacular in another Rams loss in week 7.

Harvin expected to play against Panthers

Percy Harvin didn't practice Wednesday, but is expected to battle through a rib issue and play Sunday against Carolina.

Harvin has been a huge fantasy disappointment this year, and while erratic quarterback play has certainly contributed, continuing health problems have been an issue as well.

Peterson held out of practice Wednesday

Adrian Peterson was held out of practice on Wednesday. He appeared to have suffered some kind of ankle injury late in last Sunday's game against the Packers.

There's no definitive word on his status for this week's game against Carolina. Wednesday's rest may have been purely precautionary, but the situation bears watching.

Andre Johnson's status still in doubt

It appears that Johnson's optimistic attitude earlier in the week may have been a bit premature.

While Johnson is back at practice in a limited role, he felt a tug in his hamstring while running at full speed. He's more likely to be back next week than this one.

Wells probably out for week 8

Though nothing definitive has been announced, it looks like Beanie Wells will sit out Arizona's week 8 matchup.

Wells suffered a knee injury against the Steelers, and would be up against another tough run defense this week against Baltimore anyway. Alfonso Smith would get the start if Beanie does in fact sit out.

On the bright side, Wells appears optimistic enough that it's possible he'll play in week 9, when the Cardinals face the Rams. St. Louis has allowed nearly six yards per carry to opposing running backs so far this season.

Jahvid Best likely out til week 10

It appears the Lions will keep Jahvid Best out of Sunday's game against the Broncos. That, combined with Detroit's week 9 bye, will allow Best two more full weeks of rest to recover from a concussion.

If Best sits, it's likely that Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams will see an increased workload for the second consecutive week.

Matthew Stafford back at practice

While Stafford split first team reps with Shaun Hill today, it's a positive sign and he should be able to recreate a Pro version of the Georgia vs. Florida rivalry on Sunday, when he faces Tim Tebow and the Broncos.

Peyton Hillis took starting reps at practice

Looks like even though Hardesty played decently in Hillis' absence, he will remain the back-up, although the carries might end up as an even split. Only time will tell.

Tuesday, October 25

Chris Cooley put on IR, season over

The hits just keep coming for the Redskins. Days after the team lost Tim Hightower for the season to a torn ACL, and Santana Moss for five to seven weeks with a broken hand, Washington placed TE Chris Cooley on injured reserve.

Cooley had been battling a knee injury and a broken finger. The move ends Cooley's season for good, and ensures that Fred Davis will continue to be a major focal point of the offense moving forward.

Wells may play in week 8

Beanie Wells' knee is stable, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt reported, and the running back won't require surgery.

There is no timetable on Wells' return. Even if he does play in week 8, he'll be less than 100 percent and facing Baltimore's otherworldly run defense, so fantasy owners will likely want to look elsewhere.

If Wells can't play Sunday, Alfonso Smith, LaRod Stephens-Howling, and Chester Taylor would all be in line for increased carries.

Stafford "no more than day-to-day"

Fantasy owners and Lions fans dodged a bullet when an MRI of Matthew Stafford's injured ankle came back negative.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz characterized Stafford as "no more than day-to-day," though the quarterback was in a walking book yesterday.

Stafford will reportedly seek a second opinion later this week, but right now it appears as though he'll play versus the Broncos in week 8.

Braylon Edwards expected back at practice

Niners coach John Harbaugh said he expects Braylon Edwards back at practice on Tuesday. Edwards has missed the past several games recovering from surgery to repair a torn right meniscus.

The 49ers have been thin at receiver, losing Josh Morgan for the season, so Edwards' return could provide a boost.

Willis McGahee to miss at least one game

McGahee's broken finger will give the Broncos' starting RB job back to Knowshon Moreno, at least for Sunday but possibly longer depending on how quickly the injury heals after McGahee undergoes surgery later this week.

Monday, October 24

Earnest Graham done for year

For the sake of the Bucs, let's hope LeGarrette Blount is back after the bye. Graham tore his achilles tendon on Sunday against the Bears.

Tim Hightower offcially done for year, Santana Moss for 5-7 weeks

While this was all expected, it just became official. Upgrade Roy Helu, Ryan Torain, Jabar Gaffney and Fred Davis.

Tim Hightower may have torn ACL

Looks like the worst possible scenario for Hightower owners. More tests are going to be done on the Redskins RB today to confirm a torn ACL. If Roy Helu or Ryan Torain are available in your league, pick them ASAP.

On a separate note, Mike Shanahan confirmed Santana Moss will miss next weeks game against the Bills because of his broken hand.

Sunday, October 23

Santana Moss breaks hand, Tim Hightower hurt knee too

Looks like both Redskins players will be missing some time. More info to come.

Beanie Wells leaves with knee sprain

Beanie Wells left in the second quarter of the Cardinals' game against the Steelers with a knee injury and didn't return.

After the game, Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt said he wasn't sure of the severity of Wells' injury.

Choice leaves game with undisclosed injury

Dallas RB Tashard Choice left Sunday's game against the Rams with an undisclosed injury he suffered in the third quarter.

Of course, he was being badly outplayed by rookie DeMarco Murray anyway. Murray exploded for 253 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries, including a 91-yard touchdown run on the first carry of his first career start.

Fantasy owners lucky enough to have landed Murray have to hope that Felix Jones's injury lingers a little bit longer. The Rams' defense isn't great, but 250+ yards is impressive against anyone.

Earnest Graham out rest of the game

Bucs' RB injury woes continue, as Graham left today's game against the Bears with an ankle injury. Kregg Lumpkin is now getting carries, but expect a pass heavy attack for the rest of the game.

Marshawn Lynch injures back in warm-ups

Not much info on this, but Lynch must have been stretching a little too aggressively before the game and hurt his back. Justin Forsett and Leon Washington will split carries in his place.

Click here for ESPN's continuously updated inactive list

Players of note...
RB LeGarrette Blount (knee, doubtful): inactive
TE Antonio Gates (foot, questionable): active
RB Peyton Hillis (hamstring, questionable): inactive
WR Julio Jones (hamstring, doubtful): inactive

Saturday, October 22

Feeley to start Sunday for Rams

It appears that an ankle sprain will keep Sam Bradford out against the Cowboys on Sunday. A.J. Feeley will get his first start of the season in Bradford's place.

Bradford suffered the injury last weekend. Though he was in a boot after the game, he managed to log some practice time early in the week. However, it appears that the injury was too much for Bradford to handle.

Janikowski may miss week 7

Sebastian Janikowski may need to rest his hamstring, and could be unavailable this weekend. The big-legged kicker didn't practice Friday.

With Oakland playing a late game, and the Raiders on a bye next weekend, fantasy owners will want to troll the waiver wire and see what's available as a replacement.

Friday, October 21

Boller may start Sunday versus Chiefs

It appears as though the Raiders may opt to start Kyle Boller against the Chiefs on Sunday, keeping newly acquired Carson Palmer on the bench.

It was initially assumed Palmer would start, and then coach Hue Jackson said Thursday that he would possibly consider using both quarterbacks during the game. Now league sources indicate that Boller will likely start.

Palmer joined the team just five days ago and has been out of football since last season. If Boller does start, expect the Raiders to feed the Chiefs a heavy dose of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.

Mendenhall practices fully on Friday

Rashard Mendenhall, who left practice early on Thursday, made it through a full practice on Friday and is listed as probably for Sunday's game against Arizona.

It looks like Mendenhall will be good to go, coming off a season-best performance last weekend.

LeGarrette Blount missing Sunday's game in London

Looks like Earnest Graham will be getting the start once again and he's done pretty decently with the opportunity.

Thursday, October 20

Addai still not practicing

No less an authority than Colts owner Jim Irsay reported that Joseph Addai did not participate in practice again on Thursday.

Addai has been nursing a hamstring injury, and it looks as though he'll likely miss one more game. Delone Carter and Donald Brown will again split carries in Addai's absence.

Gates out of practice again Thursday

Chargers TE Antonio Gates was held out of practice again on Thursday.

Gates had returned to limited practice Wednesday, and is appearing more and more like a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt against the Jets.

The star tight end has missed the Chargers' last three games with a foot injury.

Mike Wallace back at practice

Steelers receiver Mike Wallace returned to limited practice on Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday with a hamstring ailment.

Wallace is on track to play against the Cardinals on Sunday. Arizona boasts one of the worst pass defenses in the league.

Mendenhall limited by knee injury

Rashard Mendenhall was limited by a knee injury on practice Thursday and has been listed on the Steelers' injury report.

The extent of the injury isn't clear, so no moves are warranted yet. If for some reason Mendenhall couldn't go, Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer would likely pick up extra carries.

Mendenhall finally broke out of a funk last weekend with his first 100-yard performance of the season. He was returning from a hamstring strain.

Jimmy Graham held out of practice

Top tight end Jimmy Graham was held out of practice Thursday with ankle soreness.

Coaches still expect Graham to play, and said they merely wanted to give Graham some rest, but the situation bears watching.

Olsen returns to practice for Panthers

Panthers TE Greg Olsen returned to practice Thursday and is expected to start this weekend against the Redskins.

Olsen is battling turf toe.

Morris to start at RB for Detroit

Finally, some clarity in the Detroit backfield.

Lions OC Scott Linehan confirmed that Maurice Morris will start against the Falcons. Backup Keiland Williams will also see carries, while Jerome Harrison is out for the season battling a brain tumor.

The trio of backs is looking to fill Jahvid Best's shoes. Best is out after suffering his second concussion of the season, but the team does expect him to play again this year.

Bradford may not start vs. Cowboys

After positive reports early this week, it appears Sam Bradford may not end up behind center for the Rams' game against the Cowboys.

Bradford suffered an ankle sprain last weekend and was in a walking boot, but did practice some this week.

A.J. Feeley would get the start if Bradford can't go.

Lions' Harrison has brain tumor

The health concern that voided the Ronnie Brown-Jerome Harrison trade turns out to be a tumor that an MRI picked up in Harrison's brain.

Harrison won't play again this year, but his long-term prognosis is reportedly positive. Ironically, the trade might have benefited Harrison, since without it he wouldn't have received the MRI.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Fan2C Football are with Harrison as he begins his recovery.

Wednesday, October 19

Lions deal for Ronnie Brown voided

Ronnie Brown will not be headed to the Lions after all.

The Lions' deal with the Eagles was voided because of unspecified health issues surrounding Jerome Harrison, the player Philadelphia was receiving in the deal.

Brown should be returned to the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues. Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams are the players to watch if Lions RB Jahvid Best (concussion) can't go Sunday.

Mike Sims-Walker back with the Jags

That didn't take long. Sims-Walker is back with his original team where he played well the last couple years. This is one of those moves that should have a positive impact on every involved. On a separate note, TE Zach Miller was placed on IR, so we won't be seeing him again this season.

Carson Palmer to start Sunday

Palmer hasn't practiced since last year, so it will be interesting to see how he does and the impact on the Raiders' WRs. Those badly in need of a QB may want to take a chance that the former Bengals' QB returns to his old form quickly and makes a fantasy impact this season.

Rex Grossman benched, John Beck to start

It's official, Rex Grossman will be on the bench Sunday while John Beck tries to prove at 30 years of age that he has what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL. Even with all of his turnovers, Grossman has been a decent fantasy QB so it will be interesting to see if Beck has the potential to start on your team, depending on byes and match ups.

Andre Johnson out until week 12?

While not likely, Johnson said that there's a chance he's out a total of six weeks which would take him through the Texans' week 11 bye. At the very least, you probably won't be seeing him the next couple weeks. If I had to guess, week 9 or 10 is more likely. Until then, Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones will continue to see an increase in targets, as will Arian Foster's workload.

Tuesday, October 18

Brandon Jacobs plans week 8 return

As expected, Brandon Jacobs plans to use the bye week to recover from a knee sprain and expects to return in week 8 against the Dolphins.

Ahmad Bradshaw will remain the Giants' primary back, but could see his carries eaten into as a result of Jacobs' return.

Lions trade for Ronnie Brown

The Lions have traded Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick for Philadelphia Eagles backup running back Ronnie Brown.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz earlier today refused to rule out Jahvid Best for next Sunday's game, but this moves suggests legitimate concern. Best suffered his second concussion of the year against the 49ers.

The move further muddles the running back situation in Detroit. If Best can't play, Brown, Maurice Morris, and possibly Keiland Williams will be in the mix to pick up extra playing time.

Harrison was effective as a backup last year for the Eagles, but will again see limited time behind stud starter LeSean McCoy.

Jags to re-sign Mike Sims-Walker

Sims-Walker, released earlier this week by the Rams, is re-signing with the Jaguars.

The receiver had his most productive seasons in Jacksonville, hauling in seven touchdowns apiece in both 2009 and 2010. However, with rookie Blaine Gabbert at the helm, the Jags' passing attack has been anemic.

Sims-Walker is nothing more than a speculation play at this point.

McNabb benched, Ponder to start

Leslie Frazier has officially named Christian Ponder the Vikings' starter at QB. Donovan McNabb will ride the bench for Minnesota's week 7 game against Green Bay.

Ponder immediately becomes a player of interest for fantasy purposes. However, he looked pedestrian during the preseason, and there are easier defenses against which to kick off an NFL career than the Packers.

This move probably bodes well for Adrian Peterson, since Frazier will rely on him to keep the heat off his rookie quarterback.

Cedric Benson's suspension reduced

Because of their extensive experience keeping the Bengals' starting RB out of jail, Benson's lawyers successfully reduced his suspension from three games to one. With the Bengals on bye next week, Bernard Scott will be the featured back on October 30th against the Seahawks and will be a nice pick-up if you have players on bye during week 8.

Carson Palmer traded to Raiders

In the wake of Jason Campbell's broken collarbone, the Raiders have traded for "retired" Bengals QB Carson Palmer.

Palmer immediately steps in as the Raiders starting quarterback, and should be an instant pickup in competitive fantasy leagues.

The Raiders dealt a first round pick in 2012 and a conditional first round pick in 2013 for Palmer, which begs the question: Did Al Davis make this trade from the grave?

For those of you keeping track (Raiders fans), Oakland has now traded away its first, second, fourth, and seventh round picks in 2012, and spent its third round pick on Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft.

Monday, October 17

Rams cut Mike Sims-Walker, activate Mark Clayton

No fantasy impact for now, but it will be interesting to see if Clayton continues his strong play from last year and if someone allows the 27 year old Sims-Walker a better opportunity.

Antonio Gates finally practices

The Chargers' TE was finally able to practice today and at this point, it seems like he may be able to play in week 7. Check back later in the week, but if Gates is a go and you've held on to him, he's the most talented TE in the league and your patience will be rewarded.

Chris Cooley has a broken finger

The Redskins' TE will need surgery on his left index finger and is out indefinitely. While Cooley hasn't had much of a fantasy impact this year, Fred Davis has been playing well and will certainly receive even more targets in the future.

Jahvid Best has another concussion

News is out that Best suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers. Because it's his second concussion, the Lions star RB will most likely miss the week 7 game against Falcons. Maurice Morris will get the start in his place, but Keiland Williams should handle the short yardage situations and Jerome Harrison may get get some carries as well.

Following the game, Lions' coach Jim Schwartz was lucky not to get a concussion as well when he tried to fight 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh following a handshake he considered to be "too firm".

Sam Bradford has high ankle sprain

Just when you thought things were looking up for Brandon Lloyd, his new starting QB is diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. AJ Feeley will get first team reps this week, but there's still a chance Bradford will play Sunday as his status is considered day-to-day.

Brandon Lloyd being dealt to Rams

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is reportedly being dealt to the Rams.

This is a move with a lot of fantasy implications. Lloyd's value is likely salvaged a bit, since he'll have more success with Sam Bradford throwing to him than he likely would have with Tim Tebow. Bradford's stock is boosted as well. Demaryius Thomas may take Lloyd's place in the starting lineup.

Tebow, on the other hand, may struggle. Without the downfield threat of Lloyd, defenses will be free to stack the box. If Tebow can't run the football, he'll have trouble producing big fantasy lines--or winning many games.

No word yet on what the Broncos will receive in return.

Felix Jones out at least two weeks

Jerry Jones announced Felix Jones (not related) sustained a high ankle sprain on Sunday against the Patriots and could be out anywhere from two weeks to over a month. Rookie DeMarco Murray is the pick-up here, while Tashard Choice should see an increase in carries as well.

Sunday, October 16

Hillis injured (or benched), Hardesty mediocre

Peyton Hillis left the game against the Raiders which was first said to be a coach's decision (read: benching), but then changed to a hamstring injury, but then he returned to the game briefly so more to come on that debacle. Unfortunately, Hardest didn't do much in relief but is still a good pick-up as his carries will surely continue to increase. Hopefully he can do something with them.

Jason Campbell done for the season

Campbell broke his right collar bone against the Browns and is done for the year. If you have him on your roster, you've probably got bigger issues however. With that said, it'll be interesting to see how Kyle Boller will effect the other fantasy players on Oakland's roster.

Click here for ESPN's continuously updated inactive list

No surprises thus far.

Grossman benched for Beck

John Beck entered the game at quarterback for the Redskins after incumbent starter Rex Grossman was benched following his fourth interception.

At the time of his benching, Grossman was 9-of-22 for 143 yards, no touchdowns, and the four picks. The Redskins trailed the Eagles 20-6. The Redskins confirmed that Grossman was not injured.

Royal joins Lloyd on trade block

Report have wide receiver Eddie Royal joining fellow Bronco Brandon Lloyd on the trade block. Both players are in the last year of their contracts.

The Patriots, Niners, Titans, and Rams have so far inquired on Lloyd, though at this point no deal is imminent.

Four teams inquire about Lloyd

Four teams have so far inquired about Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. Those four teams are reportedly the Rams, Patriots, 49ers, and Titans.

Fantasy owners would obviously love to see Lloyd go to New England, where Tom Brady would likely boost Lloyd's production. The Rams have been searching for a go-to receiver for Sam Bradford all season, while the Niners and Titans have both dealt with significant injuries in their receiver corps.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis returns to practice

For the Stevan Ridley owners, it looks like the last two days were more precautionary for BGE as he practiced today. He's still listed as questionable for Sunday, so check back in, but chances are he'll play.

Jacobs out versus Bills

Brandon Jacobs has been ruled out for the second consecutive week as he battles swelling in his knee.

Ahmad Bradshaw will shoulder an increased load for the Giants against a weak Buffalo run defense. Jacobs will have an extra week off over the Giants' bye, and hopes to return in week 8.

LeGarrette Blount has significant knee tear

With a Grade 2 MCL Tear in his left knee, Blount will most likely be out 4 to 6 weeks. If Earnest Graham is somehow still available in your league, pick him up ASAP.

Thursday, October 13

BenJarvus Green-Ellis misses practice

The Law Firm missed practice today and was also limited yesterday due to a toe injurt, which could lead to game time decision. If he does sit, Stevan Ridley will once again get a chance to shine.

Brandon Lloyd on the trading block

How quickly the tides have turned for the NFL's leading receiver last year. While it makes Tebow's situation even more difficult, moving on to a new team with a better QB could benefit Lloyd.

Wednesday, October 12

Earnest Graham to start against Saints

Coming straight from the lips of his sub-par QB Josh Freeman, Earnest Graham will get the start on Sunday in relief of injured LeGarrette Blount. While the Saints defense has held up against the run, Graham may be a decent start because of his ability to catch balls out of the backfield. On a separate note, Mike Williams called his play "Terrible" so far this year and vows to improve. We're holding him to it.

Mendenhall ready for Jaguars

If you have a better option though, it's probably a good move to sit the Steeler's RB until his offense line improves and he's facing an easier opponent... The Jacksonville defense has been hard on runners all year.

Cowboys receivers practice fully

Looks like the entire Dallas offense is good to go for Sunday. Not only should this excite the owners of Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, but Tony Romo and Jason Witten as well.

Julio Jones out vs. Panthers

Jones was able to do some light running in practice today, but Coach Mike Smith has already declared the promising rookie out for Sunday's game. While this will likely lead to extra targets for Roddy White, it also means extra defensive pressure.

Derrick Mason traded to the Texans

Depending on how quickly he can adjust, Mason may have some value while Andre Johnson is out. Unfortunately for Mason, rumor has it Johnson will be back in Week 7 which means we'll have to wait until the injury bug hits the Texans WR corps again before the former Ravens and Jets WR is worth any fantasy consideration.

Tuesday, October 11

Tebow to start for Broncos against Dolphins

Sources say that Broncos players have been told that Tim Tebow will start at quarterback for the team when Denver returns from its bye week.

The move isn't a total surprise, since Tebow replaced an ineffective Kyle Orton midway through the Chargers game last weekend and nearly led a second-half comeback.

Fans have been clamoring for Tebow for weeks. The Broncos could rekindle trade talks with several teams about Orton, including the Dolphins.

~50% chance Peyton plays this year

Colts' owner Jim Irsay seems to be getting more and more optimistic that Manning will play this year and even made it sound that he could see time if the season is in the drain, however I'm not convinced. With that said, Manning is definitely worth a roster spot with the chance he's back in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Addai out at least a week, possibly three

While many owners will jump on the Delone Carter bandwagon, the rookie hasn't been overly impressive thus far and the Colts face one of the better run defenses this week in the Bengals. If Addai is out for more time, Carter and even Donald Brown will have a chance to prove their worth.

Monday, October 10

Fox to announce Week 6 starter on Tuesday

Denver coach John Fox said he would announce the Broncos' week 6 starting quarterback on Tuesday.

Denver fans--and many fantasy owners--have been clamoring for Tim Tebow for weeks, and he finally replaced incumbent Kyle Orton midway through Denver's game against San Diego. Tebow nearly led a frantic fourth-quarter comeback that fell just short.

Fantasy owners should take note that Tebow was fantasy's top performer in the last several weeks of last season.

Greg Little to start at WR for Cleveland

Browns coach Pat Shurmur said Greg Little will start at wideout opposite Mohammed Massaquoi, replacing Brian Robiskie.

Little becomes a pickup of interest for fantasy owners. The rookie second-round draft pick hauled in six passes as the Browns' leading receiver in week 4 before the bye.

Cowboys' Austin back at practice

Dallas receiver Miles Austin was back at practice on Monday. He had missed the Cowboys' week 4 game, but apparently the bye week allowed him enough time to recover.

Austin looks like a strong bet to return for this weekend's game against the Patriots.

Addai set for MRI Monday

Indianapolis RB Joseph Addai was set for an MRI on his injured hamstring Monday.

He said after the game that the injury didn't feel like a tear. Fantasy owners hope that diagnosis holds true.

Tolbert, Mathews hurting after Chargers win

The Chargers' top two running backs were nicked up against the Broncos on Sunday.

Mike Tolbert suffered a concussion and was unable to return. Ryan Mathews injured his left foot. He battled through the pain to tally a career high 125 yards, but left the locker room in a boot after the game.

The Chargers have a bye next weekend, and both players are expected back at full strength for week 7.

Julio Jones recovering from hamstring injury

Standout rookie receiver Julio Jones was forced out of the Falcons' Sunday night game against the Packers with a strained hamstring.

Jones tried to return, but was unable. There's no word yet on his status for the coming week.

Josh Morgan out with broken ankle

Josh Morgan suffered a broken ankle during the fourth quarter of the Niners' blowout win over the Buccaneers.

It's unknown how long he'll be out, but with Braylon Edwards still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his knee, the Niners are hurting at receiver.

Sunday, October 9

Vincent Jackson active for Chargers

Vincent Jackson is active and will play against the Broncos on Sunday. He struggled with leg and abdominal strains this week in practice.

Chargers coach Norv Turner said he expected Jackson to play as much as he did the previous week, when the leg injury limited him to 22 offensive snaps.

Aaron Hernandez active against Jets

Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez is active against the Jets. It's unclear what the workload split will be between Hernandez and fellow TE Rob Gronkowski.

Tarvaris Jackson knocked out of game

Seattle QB Tarvaris Jackson suffered a shoulder injury at the end of a scramble against the Giants. Trainers were checking out his throwing should and took him to the locker room.

Jackson was replaced by Charlie Whitehurst and is questionable to return.

Donald Jones leaves with leg injury

Buffalo wideout Donald Jones left Sunday's game against the Eagles with a leg injury and will not return. Cameras showed him being carted from the sideline to the locker room.

Addai leaves game with leg injury

Colts RB Joseph Addai left Sunday's game against the Chiefs in the first quarter with a leg injury.

Beanie Wells active for Cards

As expected, Beanie Wells is in the starting lineup today for the Arizona Cardinals. He had battled a tweaked hamstring this week.

Holmes, Burress, Mason question Jets OC

Sources say that Jets receivers Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, and Derrick Mason have all individually approached head coach Rex Ryan to voice concerns about offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer's play-calling.

Though the Jets have thrown the ball 62 percent of the time, it's clear the receivers aren't happy. After last week's loss, Ryan promised to return to "ground and pound" and feed the ball to backs Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Redman, Roethlisberger to start, Mendenhall limited

Isaac Redman will be getting his first career start today against the Titans and Big Ben will tough it out, as expected. Mendenhall will play but only for a few snaps.

Friday, October 7

Peyton Hillis looking for a trade?

It's not likely the Browns will trade him, but crazier things have happened. Even if it's just a leverage play by Hillis' agent, the Browns might do some leveraging of their own and continue to increase Hardesty's workload.

Thursday, October 6

Vincent Jackson misses practice again

Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson was held out of practice again today with a leg strain. It's looking increasingly like Jackson might be a game-time call this weekend.

Dolphins sign Rosenfels to replace Henne

Garrard, Delhomme, Edwards, Croyle...none was a match for the mighty Sage Rosenfels.

The Dolphins signed Rosenfels on Thursday in the wake of news that opening-day starting QB Chad Henne would miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on a separated left shoulder.

Backup Matt Moore, who took over last Sunday following Henne's injury, will likely remain as the starter when the Dolphins return to action in week 6.

Mendenhall unable to practice Thursday

Rashard Mendenhall missed another day of practice Thursday with a hamstring strain. The back's status is still up the air for Sunday's game against Tennessee.

If Mendenhall can't go, Isaac Redman will shoulder the load for the Steelers.

Big Ben to play on Sunday

Ben Roethlisberger practiced fully today and will play Sunday against the Titans. Roethlisberger sprained his foot last weekend.

Dez Bryant at 85 percent

Dez Bryant says he's about 85 percent healthy right now, recovering from a deep thigh bruise. Conditioning issues stemming from the bruise have limited Bryant's second-half effectiveness this season.

Bryant added that he expects to be back at 100 percent by next week.

Brandon Jacobs still not practicing

Brandon Jacobs was held out of practice again today. The running back is still dealing with swelling in his knees. There's been no definitive word on his status for this weekend's game.

Giants OC: Manningham still starter

Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride confirmed that Mario Manningham will continue to start opposite Hakeem Nicks.

Manningham was briefly demoted last Sunday after experiencing some communication issues with Eli Manning early in the game. Victor Cruz took his place in two-receiver sets. While Manningham is back in the starting lineup, Cruz should still see his fair share of looks.

Mathews in line for increased workload

Ryan Mathews has had to earn his way into the heavy share of the workload split with fellow Chargers RB Mike Tolbert. His strong play early in the season has paid off.

Coach Norv Turner said he'd like to get Mathews 24 to 25 touches each game going forward. Already one of fantasy's top backs, Mathews will likely become even more valuable. Of course, that will come at the expense of Tolbert.

Aaron Hernandez back at practice

Looks like a good chance the gifted young TE will be play on Sunday, which would benefit both Hernandez and Brady owners, but hurt Gronkowski who saw an increase in touches while Hernandez recovered from his minor knee injury.

Manning thinks he'll play this year

For those that are doing well in their leagues and like to plan ahead, it wouldn't hurt to keep Peyton Manning on your bench in hopes that he's back in time for the fantasy playoffs. Fully healed plus a below average Colts' defense could lead to some big numbers for a patient Peyton owner.

Chad Henne to have season-ending surgery

Sources say QB Chad Henne has chosen to have season-ending surgery on his left shoulder. Henne separated the shoulder last Sunday against the Chargers.

Matt Moore filled in for Henne following his injury. The Dolphins have also worked out a veritable "who's who" of washouts, including David Garrard, Jake Delhomme, Brodie Croyle, and Trent Edwards. Any new quarterback would have the benefit of a bye week to learn the offense.

For Dolphins fans: Andrew Luck plays Colorado at home on Saturday evening. Tune in.

Wednesday, October 5

Chargers' Jackson nursing hamstring strain

San Diego wide receiver Vincent Jackson was held out of practice Wednesday with a hamstring strain. Jackson suffered the injury in week 4, and may not be full strength for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Jackson owners will be disappointed if the star receiver isn't 100%, since Denver's secondary has been one of the league's worst this season--albeit mostly without top cornerback Champ Bailey.

Payton says Colston's role to increase

Saints coach Sean Payton called Marques Colston "fully healthy" for the first time since the receiver broke his collarbone in the season opener, and said his role would increase.

Colston owners are surely pleased, but the wideout's presence may decrease looks for Lance Moore, Robert Meachem, and breakout tight end Jimmy Graham.

Woodhead, Hernandez miss Pats practice

Aaron Hernandez is still a question mark for New England's game this Sunday. He warmed up before practice today, but was again held out of drills.

Danny Woodhead also missed practice, and is nursing an ankle injury. Neither player has been ruled out for week 5.

Dolphins try out two more QBs

Things aren't looking good for Chad Henne's future as the Dolphins worked out two more quarterbacks, Trent Edwards and Brodie Croyle. At this rate, it's only a matter of time before Dan Marino gets a chance.

Mendenhall won't practice Wednesday

Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall won't practice on Wednesday, but the team is hopeful he can practice on Thursday. Mendenhall hasn't yet been ruled out of Sunday's game, and it's looking like this could be a dreaded game-time decision.

Steelers resign LT Max Starks

The Steelers have officially resigned former starting LT Max Starks to bolster a porous offensive line.

The addition of Starks can only help battered QB Ben Roethlisberger, and will hopefully allow Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman, and Mewelde Moore create more running room.

Brandon Jacobs dealing with knee swelling

Giants RB Brandon Jacobs is dealing with swelling in his knees, according to coach Tom Coughlin. No decision has been made about his status for Sunday's game against Seattle, but Coughlin added that Jacobs was expected to practice today.

If Jacobs were limited, that could increase Ahmad Bradshaw's role. The Seahawks have been one of the better run defenses so far this young season.

Daniel Thomas ready for week 6

Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas says he'll be ready to go in week 6, following the team's bye week this Sunday. Reggie Bush owners hoping for a longer-term absence will be back to dealing with a timeshare.

Dolphins inquire on Garrard, Delhomme

On the heels of Chad Henne's potentially season-ending shoulder injury, the Miami Dolphins have reached out to veteran free agent QBs David Garrard and Jake Delhomme.

Both quarterbacks are reportedly mulling their options, and it's unclear whether either would start in place of Matt Moore or act as a backup. Of course, Garrard was released just weeks before the season by a Jaguars team featuring Luke McCown and Blaine Gabbert as backups, and Delhomme has thrown 25 interceptions and just ten touchdowns in his last 16 games.

Dolphins fans may want to check out Stanford's Andrew Luck, leading the Cardinal at home against Colorado on Saturday night.

Tuesday, October 4

Colts expected to stick with Painter

Kerry Collins may have taken his last NFL snap...again. The Colts are expected to stick with Curtis Painter at QB after a fairly effective start against the Buccaneers on Monday night.

Painter was only 13-of-30 on the night, but tallied 281 yards passing and two touchdowns against only one turnover. Pierre Garcon could be the biggest beneficiary, as he scored two long touchdowns with Painter at the helm.

Andre Johnson to miss 2-3 weeks

Breathe, Andre Johnson owners. The star wideout will likely miss 2-3 weeks after undergoing a procedure designed to speed his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak has said Jacoby Jones would start in Johnson's place.

Fox says McGahee is Broncos' guy

Denver coach John Fox called Willis McGahee "our guy," after the veteran back tallied two 100-yard games in the last three weeks.

McGahee will start against San Diego on Sunday and has likely earned the bulk of the carries at the expense of Knowshon Moreno, who has been far less effective this season while battling a hamstring injury he sustained in the season opener.

Looks like Isaac Redman to start week 5

With both Rashard Mendenhall and Mewelde Moore injured, Redman could be in for a lot of carries. He's a must-add for Mendenhall owners and just about everyone else for that matter.

Benson's suspension delayed at least a week

For all of the stupid stuff that's happened in his life, I have to say Cedric has played this suspension pretty well. He'll be out there in week 5 and possibly beyond.

Woodhead escapes major injury

Patriots RB Danny Woodhead has a sprained ankle, but no broken bone or torn knee ligaments. It's unclear what his status will be for week 5.

Woodhead's presence won't help clear up a crowded backfield in New England, where he's joined by BenJarvus Green-Ellis (The Law Firm, one of football's great nicknames) and promising rookie Stevan Ridley.

Dez Bryant's conditioning an issue

Dez Bryant has just two second-half catches this season, an issue that may be linked to conditioning problems. A thigh bruise has limited Bryant's workout ability, and he has yet to get fully into game shape.

Mendenhall not ruled out for week 5

ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Steelers won't rule out RB Rashard Mendenahll for Sunday's game against the Titans. Mendenhall left last Sunday's game with a hamstring injury.

It sounds like Mendenhall could be a game-time decision, so keep checking back for updates throughout the week.

Separated shoulder could end Henne's season

In a big blow to the already-underachieving Dolphins, team sources revealed that the separated shoulder QB Chad Henne suffered on Sunday could end his season. The team is currently waiting on a second opinion.

Matt Moore would take over for Henne as the Dolphins' starter. Moore played reasonably well against the Chargers after Henne went down, but this injury should boost Miami's chances in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

Coach thinks Roethlisberger will play

While Big Ben might be problem-prone (we all know his issues go beyond injuries), he's also one tough dude so Mike Tomlin predicting he'll play is to be expected.

On a separate, less fantasy-related Steelers' note, LB James Harrison somehow managed to break the orbital bone around his right eye and will be out for awhile. Sounds like Karma to me for all those illegal hits.

Monday, October 3

Michael Bush suffered late injury against Patriots

Raiders coach Hue Jackson reports that backup running back Michael Bush suffered a leg injury late in Oakland's loss to New England. If Bush were to miss time, it would increase the value of certified beast Darren McFadden. Bush has been seeing a significant amount of goal line work this season.

Eagles LT Peters could miss significant time

An already porous Eagles line may be getting worse. Starting left tackle Jason Peters, who left Philadelphia's game on Sunday with a leg injury, has a hamstring strain that may keep him out for next week and possibly beyond.

That doesn't bode well for Michael Vick, who is already often running for his life, or early season standout RB LeSean McCoy. Peters would be replaced by enormous backup tackle King Dunlap.

Kubiak says Johnson "Will miss some time."

Texans coach Gary Kubiak says star receiver Andre Johnson "will miss some time," but how much is unclear.

The extent of Johnson's hamstring injury still isn't known, and Kubiak refused to put a timeline on the recovery, saying it could be anything from a few days to several weeks.

Vikings sticking with McNabb as starter

Despite an 0-4 start, ESPN reports the Vikings are staying with McNabb at quarterback.

McNabb has looked mostly cooked over the last season and change, and with first-round pick Christian Ponder waiting in the wings, some have wondered whether a switch was in the offing. It looks like McNabb will be under center at least for the Vikings' next game against Arizona.

Chris Johnson gets his FB back

After his first 100 yard game, Johnson finally gets Ahmard Hall back from suspension. Things are definitely looking up, when you factor in that Hall's replacement graded out as the worst lead blocker in the NFL.

Tim Hightower suffered shoulder injury

Looks like all the Torain carries may have been for a reason. More to come on the injury, but that's a platoon I'd look to avoid.

Jets' Coach "back to ground game"

Not that Greene and Tomlinson have performed well, but it sounds like they'll be getting more opportunities which may hurt Sanchez.

Mendenhall's hamstring injury not serious

For now, it looks like Mendenhall will be able to play in week 5.

More carries for Hillis, says Coach

For those of you worried about Hardesty creeping into the rotation, it looks like Hillis' will return to his full work load after the bye week.

Michael Vick dislocated finger

It's on his throwing hand, but Andy Reid didn't even mention it during his post-game injury report so he should be good to go in Week 5. Hopefully he can stop getting hurt.

Ben Tate heard "small pop" during game

Hearing your groin pop is never a good thing, but sounds like Tate is day-to-day. Looks like Foster has taken back the reigns to the offense, so keep Tate on your bench until the next opportunity knocks.

Andre Johnson may be out a few weeks

Sounds like Johnson will definitely be out week 5 and we'll wait to see if it's even longer. In the mean time, more carries for Foster.

Roethlisberger's left foot sprained, not broken

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has a sprained left foot, but no break in the bone as was initially feared.

Kyle Orton to remain Broncos' starting QB

After Sunday's loss to the Packers, Broncos coach John Fox confirmed Orton is still the starter

Shanahan refuses to commit to starting RB

Despite Ryan Torain's big day against the Rams, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan refused to commit to favoring any one running back.

The Washington Post reports that Shanahan said, "All three guys can play. All guys have a strength, and we'll play the hot guy."

Jacoby Jones to fill in for injured Andre Johnson

ESPN reports that Jacoby Jones would take Andre Johnson's place in the Texans' wide receiver rotation if Johnson misses time. Johnson left Sunday's game against Pittsburgh with what's being described as a hamstring injury. Johnson had an MRI on Sunday night.

Veteran Bryant Johnson would also likely become more involved in the rotation.

Ryan Grant "good to go" for Falcons next week

Packers RB Ryan Grant, dealing with a bruised kidney, says he'll be "good to go" for Green Bay's divisional round rematch against the Falcons next weekend.

Mario Manningham demoted during win over Cards

Rotoworld reports that Giants receiver Mario Manningham was removed from standard two-wideout sets against the Cardinals, replaced by early-season breakout Victor Cruz. Manningham apparently upset quarterback Eli Manning by running several incorrect routes early in the game.

Vincent Jackson day-to-day with leg strain

Chargers wideout Vincent Jackson briefly left San Diego's win over the Dolphins with what Chargers coach Norv Turner characterized as a leg strain. He is listed as day-to-day.

Mike Williams (SEA) suffers concussion

Before he left, Williams had three catches for 36 yards and a TD against Atlanta.
